Me in a nutshell

Born in San Francisco in 1968 into a time of great cultural change, I became fascinated by self discovery and the human potential movement, growing a life-long interest in self-development. A Reiki master and an avid yoga practitioner, I am deeply curious about the relationship between our mind, body and spirit.

Something I’ve learned from my clients...

How powerful people feel when they find their truth and voice, how this can release an incredible inner resolve that can carry them through life with a resilience they could not have imagined.

Gestalt Therapy

Gestalt therapy focuses on what we feel, think and do here and now. Instead of talking about the past and interpreting it, the therapist helps us bring our struggles into the present moment and become aware of how they feel right now. In gestalt therapy true change can happen only when we stop trying to make things different and fully accept what is, embracing our whole selves and taking responsibility for who we are and what we want.

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic therapy helps us to develop a sense of self and a deeper clarity into our feelings, thoughts and experiences. It enables us to recognise our strengths, resourcefulness and creativity, and use these as tools to bring about development, growth or change in our lives. Humanistic therapy focuses on our self-worth and holds the view that being valued as a person, without judgement, is the key to true positive change in our lives.

Transactional Analysis

Transactional Analysis sees psychological problems as the products of early programming - our 'life script', which includes all the messages, the dos and don'ts, the shoulds and oughts, that we received and internalised as children and that continue to affect how we think, feel and behave as adults. In TA, there are three parts to our personality - the Parent, the Adult and the Child - that are often in conflict. Therapy's goal is to make us aware of the masks we wear and the scripts we follow in order to challenge and change our dysfunctional, recurring, unconscious patterns.
